Regulation

Regulation is the process of restoring the adjustment and alignment of the piano’s action to its optimum performance level. The action is made primarily of wood and felt, and over time these components will change due to wear. This wear will cause changes in how well the action performs, and must be periodically maintained through regulation to ensure you are getting the most from your piano. Jeff Stickney has extensive experience with this process, having received training at the Yamaha Little Red School House and numerous classes at PTG conventions, and through his years of experience as a piano technician at the University of Montana and for his piano clients. If you think you’re not getting the most out of your piano’s performance, Jeff can help you understand how a regulation would enhance your enjoyment of the piano.
